Sometimes an innovative solution to a single challenge can unlock value in other areas.

In our continuous pursuit of excellence, we identified a repetitive issue with SIG serial tags. The existing system, managed by a supplier, was creating duplicate serial numbers. This was causing confusion and wasting precious time. Faulty tags had to be scrapped, and replacements sourced from the warehouse, causing delays and inefficiencies.

After considering possible solutions, we proposed a totally different approach: marking all relevant information directly on the SIG tube (envelope) using laser marking. This innovative method addressed the duplication issue and offered additional benefits that weren’t part of our original goal but make a difference, like improved consistency and control over tracking and usage, cost savings and enhanced on-time delivery to customers.
