MKS has officially marked a significant milestone with the grand opening of our new Super Center Factory in Penang, Malaysia. This state-of-the-art facility strengthens our advanced semiconductor manufacturing capabilities and positions MKS closer to our key customers and partners in the region.
The grand opening ceremony brought together nearly 400 attendees—including customers, suppliers, media, MKS leadership, and government officials. The event was proudly officiated by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, highlighting the global significance of this investment for the semiconductor ecosystem.
A Strategic Hub for Global Semiconductor Demand
The Penang Super Center reflects a clear strategic choice for MKS. Penang offers a robust semiconductor ecosystem, close proximity to key industry players, and a highly skilled talent base that provides the ideal conditions for long-term growth.
Designed to support the rising global demand for wafer fabrication equipment, the new facility will expand its capabilities in phases.

- Expansive Scale: Spanning approximately 350,000 square feet across a 17-acre site.
- Significant Investment: Representing an investment of more than RM400 million (approximately USD $98 million) upon completion of all phases.

- Integrated Operations: Synergy between the new VSD/PSD factory and the existing MSD factory in Penang.
