James A. Schreiner
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Materials Solutions Division (MSD)

Mr. Schreiner serves as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Materials Solutions Division of MKS Instruments, Inc. and resides in Berlin, Germany. Mr. Schreiner assumed leadership of the Materials Solutions Division upon MKS’ acquisition of Atotech Limited, which became the newly created MSD, in August 2022. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, a role he held since joining MKS in September 2019. Prior to MKS, Mr. Schreiner held senior management roles at Emerson Electric Co. from 2004 to 2019, including Senior Vice President of Global Operations, Vice President of North America, and Vice President of Europe, each for the Rosemount Measurement & Analytical Group, and Vice President of Global Operations at the Micro Motion Division. Prior to Emerson Electric, Mr. Schreiner served in progressive leadership roles at Plexus Corp., ILX Lightwave Corporation, Tetra Pak and 3M Company.

Mr. Schreiner holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University, Bozeman as well as an Executive M.B.A. from the University of Colorado, Denver.
