Learning Fast to Deliver What Customers Need

When our Power Solutions team was tasked with designing and delivering a new product to a critical customer in just three months, the timeline pushed every boundary, especially for the complex printed circuit board (PCB) work involved.

My primary role on the project was firmware developer, but as the work progressed, I realized I could help us meet the aggressive deadline by building skills outside of my core expertise. So I started studying, learning about hardware design and PCB development.

With this new knowledge, I was able to design several power electronics boards. My first ever. These boards met and exceeded customer requirements, improved reliability and reduced manufacturing complexity.

By learning something I wasn’t familiar with, I was able to help the team meet every major milestone. We delivered strong solutions for our customers. It just goes to show how impactful innovation can start with the willingness to step beyond what you already know.

I am Chris Huneke, and this is My Innovation Story.

If you’re looking for the freedom to introduce and develop new ideas, we’d love to hear from you.
