Effectively Managing SAP Change - Why Should SAP Projects Be Any Different?

Every year global businesses and their IT organizations embark upon major projects to upgrade or customize their SAP implementation through millions of dollars worth of SAP change and customization activity. However, many of these organizations lack the tools and processes to effectively manage the required changes. This is because traditionally, vendors that provide application lifecycle management (ALM) tools have not been supportive of the SAP market. SAP project teams have had to resort to the use of ad-hoc tools and techniques for managing their change activity, resulting in chaos, late projects, missed expectations or broken functionality.

This paper outlines how traditional ALM techniques can more aptly support SAP change and provide the governance framework to effectively measure and manage new projects and the maintenance of existing systems.
