Michael Harris Michael W. Harris

President & CEO

Michael Harris is the President and Chief Executive Officer of MKS. Michael brings to MKS a long and successful track record of building enterprise software companies, leveraging industry expertise and technology to deliver value to customers, while managing long-term growth and profitability. Michael served as Chief Operating Officer and as President of MKS from 2003-2009 and was appointed CEO in November 2009.

Prior to joining MKS, Michael was the President of Industry Specific Applications (ISA) as well as the CEO of the Interealty division of Geac Computer Corporation. With his leadership, Interealty became a top supplier of web-based CRM. Michael guided the ISA group to profitability and brought several successful products to market at the same time. Michael previously held executive positions of increasing responsibility at SunGard Data Systems, including Managing Director of North America, where his customers included large global banks looking for enterprise risk management solutions to manage their exposure.

Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and an MBA from York University.


Philip Deck

Philip C. Deck

Executive Chairman

Philip Deck is the Executive Chairman of MKS, also serving as Chairman of the Board. As Executive Chairman, Philip is the company’s primary connection to the shareholders of MKS and he also contributes actively to corporate strategy, strategic partnerships and financial issues.

Philip served as CEO of MKS from 2001-2009, during which time the company became the fastest growing competitor in the ALM market as it transformed from a desktop tools provider into an enterprise software vendor to the Global 1000. MKS's renewed product strategy, growth and profitability has positioned it to become the global leader in the ALM market.

Prior to joining MKS, Philip was Chairman and/or CEO of Certicom Corp where he established the company as one of the worldwide leaders in cryptographic technology. Philip is also a director of the Bank of Canada, the C.D. Howe Institute and the Canadian Opera Company.

Philip holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and Mathematics from Queen's University.


Doug Sawatzki Douglas M. Sawatzky

Chief Financial Officer

Doug Sawatzky is the Chief Financial Officer of MKS, responsible for leadership of all financial functions within the company. Doug joined MKS in October 2001, and held the positions of Corporate Controller and Vice President of Finance before being appointed CFO.

Prior to joining MKS, Doug held positions with United Rentals of Canada Inc., and ATS Automation Tooling Systems, Inc. Doug also spent six years at KPMG in the corporate finance and assurance practices.

Doug earned his CA Designation in 1994, his CBV Designation in 1998, and he holds a Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

 


Doug Akers

Doug Akers
Director of Customer Requirements

Doug Akers is the Director of Customer Requirements of MKS, responsible for leadership of MKS global product management activities; he also manages the strategy and roadmap of MKS’s enterprise products and solutions. Doug also leads the direction and production of all learning initiatives related to the MKS product lines.

Doug joined MKS in August 1995 and has held positions within Customer Support, Marketing and Product Management for both the Integrity and Interoperability businesses since that time.

Doug holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Psychology from McMaster University. 


Tom Bosanko

Thomas A. Bosanko
Vice President of Interoperability Sales

Tom Bosanko is the Vice President of Interoperability Sales and oversees all operations related to MKS interoperability products. Tom’s career spans over 25 years as an entrepreneur, technologist and executive in the software industry.

Tom co-founded Convergent Solutions, Inc., a software products and services company. At Convergent, Tom served in numerous capacities including CFO, President and CEO. The company merged with publicly traded KTI, Inc., where he continued as President of its software subsidiary. Tom was on the Board of Directors at both Convergent and KTI. Tom and his business partner, Pat Higbie, then acquired DataFocus and Tom was President of DataFocus until the company merged with MKS, Inc. in 1999. Tom is also an advisor to the Board of Monumental Venture Partners, LLC, a venture capital firm.

Tom holds a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree from Rider University.


John Cull

John J. Cull
Vice President of Marketing and Customer Solutions

John Cull is the Vice President of Marketing and Customer Solutions of MKS, and is responsible for leadership of MKS global marketing activities and strategic alliance initiatives. Additionally, John leads the Customer Solutions organization at MKS, which is focused on creating value for our customers through the deployment of best practices built on the foundation of MKS technology solutions.

At MKS, John served as Regional Sales Director and Vice-President, North American Sales from 2003-2008 and was appointed Vice President of Marketing and Customer Solutions in October 2009.

Prior to joining MKS, John was a District Sales Manager (Atlanta, GA) with Rational Software, where he managed both sales and technical personnel with overall responsibility for product sales and services.


Megan Hall


Megan Hall
Director of Human Resources

Megan Hall is the Director of Human Resources of MKS, responsible for leadership of global employee management. In her role, Megan provides guidance and best practice experience in the implementation of human resource services and programs for MKS employees, management and executives worldwide.

Megan joined MKS in February 1999 and has held positions of increasing responsibility within the Human Resources team since that time.

Megan earned her CHRP designation in 2003, holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Business from University of Waterloo and a graduate diploma in Human Resources from Sheridan College.


Larry Wasylishyn


R. Larry Wasylishyn
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Larry Wasylishyn is the General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of MKS, responsible for overseeing all legal affairs for MKS. Larry provides leadership on intellectual property protection, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and all other legal matters for MKS.

Larry joined MKS in July 2000. Prior to joining MKS, Larry worked in legal positions with Clarica Life Insurance Company, Babcock & Wilcox Industries Ltd. and McDowell, Welch.

Larry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Applied Economics from Cornell University and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Western Ontario.
