Waterloo, ON — November 8, 2004: MKS Inc. (TSX: MKX), a leading provider of enterprise software configuration management (SCM) solutions for the Global 1000, today announced that USERS Incorporated (www.users.com), a unit of Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISV) and provider of systems and services for credit unions, has standardized on the MKS Integrity Solution® for enterprise software change and configuration management (SCCM).
USERS will implement MKS's enterprise SCCM solution to consolidate version control, call center and action ticket tracking tools to improve automation and to better manage requirements from inception through to production and deployment.
MKS enables USERS to further improve development efficiency on its core processing system, DataSafe®, through tighter integration with Mercury TestDirector and several Integrated Development Environments (IDE's), including Microsoft Visual Studio .NET and Visual Basic. MKS will reduce the amount of time and cost associated with application maintenance versus development of new enhancements. USERS selected MKS after a thorough evaluation of offerings in the source control market.
Additional benefits that USERS will realize from standardizing on the MKS Integrity Solution include:
- Improved metrics and quality trend reporting via the MKS Integrity Solution dashboard;
- Greater management traceability, visibility, control, and metrics over requirements through to software assets promoted into production environments;
- Enhanced cross-team communication and real-time collaboration, improving software application quality, accuracy, reproducibility, and consistency;
- Improved security and enforced version control processes to protect software assets and intellectual property;
- Secure processes governing promotion to production ensuring no assets or artifacts are left behind as a change progresses through the lifecycle; and
- More efficient release management with roll backs and identification of all assets related to a change implemented at any point in the past.
Sal LaBricciosa, VP Process and System Services, states, "In today's highly competitive financial services industry, it is imperative that we continually improve internal development efficiency throughout our organization. We chose MKS because we felt the company was best positioned to help us improve quality and shorten our time-to-market, ensuring our technology partnerships with credit unions remain rock solid. MKS's solution is used in multiple Fiserv locations and references from other users were extremely positive. We believe the MKS Integrity Solution will meet all of our necessary criteria and allow USERS to continue its track record of high-quality service to our clients."
