Enterprise SCM betters global IT collaboration
Esslingen, Germany - April 27, 2004: MKS Inc. (MKS) (TSX:MKX), a leading provider of tools to automate, secure, manage and control the software development process, today announced that Tele Atlas, worldwide leader in the development of state-of-the-art geographic databases, has successfully deployed the MKS Integrity Solution® and MKS Federated Server™ architecture for real-time collaboration to its global development team in Belgium, Germany, and India.
The MKS Integrity Solution, for enterprise software change and configuration management (SCM), was selected by Tele Atlas in October 2003 to provide business management with greater control, visibility, and auditability of their distributed worldwide software development and standardization of the environment for better global collaboration. The MKS Integrity Solution is used within Tele Atlas to manage development of the company’s mapping environment, and for cross-team and cross-location communication.
"We are extremely impressed. We have been able to rapidly install and implement the software, and train our staff across three locations in a very short period of time. Teams are now productive with the MKS Integrity Solution and we are already realizing the results of enterprise SCM technology, particularly with respect to global development team communication and collaboration via the MKS Federated Server architecture," says Philiep de Sutter, CTO of Tele Atlas. "We are on target to reach our goals to decrease the total cost of ownership by 30 percent and increase the development speed by 30 percent."
