MKS Launches Online Customer Community

Waterloo, ON - September 30, 2002: MKS Inc. (MKS) (TSE:MKX), a leading provider of tools to automate, secure, manage and control the software development process, today announced the launch of its new online MKS Customer Community, a full service customer portal aimed at providing current MKS support customers with timely product updates, online access to MKS technical experts, and the ability to connect virtually with some of the one million MKS product users worldwide.

The MKS Customer Community is available exclusively to MKS customers with current MKS maintenance. Customers are able to create a personalized Web space in the community complete with preferences, a technical profile, favorites and online friends. Participants in the MKS Customer Community will receive product and company news alerts, and have immediate download access to product documentation, upgrades and patches. To aid in customer networking, community participants may also create and join in discussion forums, or communicate with other customers one-on-one to share ideas, experiences and solutions to problems.
