MKS Hosts Dallas IT Seminar: Driving Business Value through Software Process Improvement

(MKS) (TSX:MKX), a leading provider of enterprise software configuration management (eSCM) solutions for the Global 1000, is pleased to announce Dr. Bill Curtis, a world-renown expert on the Capability Maturity Model® (CMM) will keynote at MKS’s upcoming seminar with a presentation entitled, "Using Process Maturity to Better Integrate IT within Business," scheduled for Tuesday, March 16 from 8:30 a.m. — 1:00 p.m. at the Westin Galleria in Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Bill Curtis, Co-founder and Chief Scientist at TeraQuest, and former director of the Software Process Program at the Software Engineering Institute, will discuss the importance of understanding and measuring the maturity of the IT function within an organization and will explain how to answer this question using the CMM. Mr. Curtis is also co-author of the Capability Maturity Model® for Software (SW-CMM®), principal architect of the People CMM®, and a member of the CMM® Integration product team.

Joining Dr. Curtis on the presentation roster is Doug Warden, Senior Director, Measurement Solutions, Gartner Inc. who will present, "Trends in Enterprise Software Development and Software Process Improvement." Mr. Warden will discuss current trends in the industry and examine the return on investment achieved from real software process improvement initiatives. He will also review the “Top 10” business and technology priorities for 2004.

Tim Ruzbacki, MKS Process Consultant, will present, "Maturing Beyond the ‘One Size Fits All’ Methodology." This presentation examines the benefits of using a common software change and configuration management tool and flexible process across the organization to aid software process improvement, drive cost reduction, and increase productivity.
