David Jones Appointed Managing Director, Asia/Pacific
Waterloo, ON – December 5, 2005: MKS Inc. (TSX: MKX) announced today it has established a new business presence in Asia Pacific. The Company also announces the appointment of David Jones to the position of Managing Director, Asia/Pacific.
With this announcement MKS extends its well established presence in Europe and North America, where its application lifecycle management (ALM) business has grown significantly over the past few years, to the Pacific Rim, where the company will offer local service and support for the company’s rapidly growing customer base in countries such as Australia, China, Japan, Korea, and Singapore. Many of MKS’s global customers, including HSBC plc, JP Morgan Chase, and Electrolux have deployed MKS’s ALM solution, the MKS Integrity Suite® within their Asian operations, including China, Japan, Singapore, Australia and India.
The application management challenges facing large enterprises in Asia parallel the challenges MKS has enabled large enterprises to solve in US and European markets:
- Automation of application development processes to drive productivity
- The rising complexity of application environments and teams driving the need for geographically diverse teams to collaborate effectively in real time.
- The accelerating rate of change of distributed Java and .NET-based applications
- The stringent regulatory climate resulting in tighter control and audit-ability and enforcement of process
- The need for system integrators, outsourcers and offshore teams to work as one with the enterprise and adhere to corporate quality and regulatory compliance standards
“Whether in embedded technologies, pharmaceutical, banking or telecommunications sectors, as large enterprises further consolidate around customers they all are aggregating their products and channels into common service processes and the dependence on software to run their business is increasing,” says David Jones, Managing Director, Asia/Pacific for MKS. “MKS has proven in Europe and North America that from requirements management through to deployment, we enable global corporations to enhance their application development and IT operations processes proving compliance. The MKS Integrity Suite also provides the real time metrics they need to support management decision making.”
“Our steady expansion in Europe/Americas and focus on large enterprises has driven deployments of MKS technology to development teams and offshore firms in Asia/Pacific,” says Michael Harris, MKS President and COO. “MKS is now pleased to bring our solutions directly to enterprises headquartered in South East Asia, Japan and Australia and to enable these enterprises to benefit from our technology and expertise in ALM. I am delighted to have David leading our entry into these markets. He has a tremendous track record in developing significant enterprise software businesses with the largest companies in the region.”
