Waterloo, ON – February 1, 2005: MKS Inc. (MKS) (TSX:MKX) announced today a significant new release of its enterprise software change management system aimed at increasing efficiency and management visibility over global development teams and the application lifecycle process. The MKS Integrity Suite™ 2005 adds integrated requirements management, a management dashboard for management decision support, and flexible e-Signature support for regulated environments. MKS brings full lifecycle coverage into a single solution, single architecture, and single interface – rather than via a suite of disparate, acquired tools.
Integrated Requirements Management – MKS Requirements 2005
MKS
has built requirements management on the foundation of MKS Integrity
Manager®, making requirements management an initial stage of the
development process. Business analysts and developers benefit from a
real time flow of information and collaborate via a single product and
common process. This single solution approach helps lower training
costs, administrative overhead and time to deployment, and encourages
constant communication flow – particularly important for development
shops using Agile and other iterative development methodologies.
Dashboard for Improved Management Decision Support
MKS’s
new configurable dashboard delivers instant visibility into software
development activity occurring around the globe. Charts, reports and
metrics with drill down capability into the details, enable full
traceability from initial requirements through to line of code changes.
Managers can monitor vital information such as defect trend rates,
status of assigned tasks and work effort across distributed, iSeries
and mainframe platforms. Information is relayed to the dashboard in
real time as development staff conduct their day-to-day activities.
e-Signature Support and Server Side Audit Logging for Regulated Industries
New
e-Signature support aids compliance with regulations such as FDA 21-CFR
Part 11 and Sarbanes-Oxley. Server side audit logging via the MKS
Integrity Server captures and preserves an audit trail of any
modification of data.
Advanced Refactoring and Component Re-Use
MKS’s
refactoring support enables developers to restructure rather than
rewrite code for greater development efficiency and productivity by
allowing users to move and rename source files and move and share
components. MKS is one of the first SCM vendors to align with latest
IDE advancements, such as the Eclipse Refactoring Wizard.
Single Solution, Single Architecture
The single
architecture underlying MKS Integrity Suite 2005 brings process and
workflow, software configuration management and requirements management
together into a single, configurable interface. Users adjust panes on
the screen to view information relevant to their role.
Union Bank of California, one of the largest commercial banks in California and a long time MKS customer, notes, "Communication between business units and development groups has improved, and we have established an increased level of audit control having standardized on the MKS Integrity Solution," says Mike Knott, Systems Specialist, Union Bank of California. "The upcoming release of MKS Integrity Suite 2005 delivers several key capabilities that map well to our business needs, in particular, the addition of requirements management and new dashboard capabilities, which provide better overall visibility, control and management decision support. MKS’s single solution, single architecture approach will enable UBOC to further gain an increased level of control over the complete application lifecycle process."
