Waterloo, ON - December 19, 2002: MKS Inc. (MKS) (TSE:MKX), a leading provider of tools to automate, secure, manage and control the software development process today announced the immediate availability of its integration between MKS Source Integrity® Enterprise Edition 8.3, the Company's enterprise software configuration management (SCM) solution, with Mercury Interactive's TestDirector®, a global test management solution.

Through the integration, validated by Mercury Interactive's Technology Alliance Program, quality assurance professionals can tap into MKS Source Integrity Enterprise Edition's software configuration management solution to organize, manage and protect all manual and automated test scripts, test plans and test data, make changes in the test scripts, and effectively share information regarding changes across team environments. Testers can also checkout individual tests, work on them and then check-in these scripts into the central repository to maintain an accurate record of what has been changed.

MKS Source Integrity Enterprise Edition is seamlessly integrated with TestDirector and all tasks can be completely performed without ever leaving the familiar Mercury Interactive TestDirector interface. The ability of testers to access the version control commands of MKS Source Integrity Enterprise Edition directly from within TestDirector enhances quality assurance productivity and shortens the learning curve, creating a greater return on investment in their lifecycle management solutions. Also, because all test plans and scripts are maintained under version control, QA teams can instantly recreate the exact tests performed on specific versions of software and avoid change or overwrites to test scripts, improving overall application quality.

"Today's companies understand the importance of embracing global test management as part of the software development lifecycle, and in giving their development and test teams the power to improve communication and collaboration," says David Martin, MKS vice president, product management. "Working closely with Mercury Interactive, we can provide the tightly integrated SCM and test management solutions that our customers demand, and help them achieve the highest level of quality while still enabling them to complete projects on time and on budget."

"The integration between MKS Source Integrity Enterprise Edition and TestDirector offers customers increased efficiency, higher quality applications and faster time to market," said Jim Hare, director of technology alliances at Mercury Interactive. "MKS's integration has met our requirements, and has been validated under our Technology Alliance Program. We are pleased to welcome MKS as an alliance partner."
