Waterloo, ON — January 31, 2008: MKS Inc. (TSX:MKX) will join David Consulting Group (DCG) in hosting a two-part Webinar Series on CMMI Measurement and Process Enforcement. The webinars come in response to increasing interest from software engineering organizations in using the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), as their process framework to achieve higher levels of process maturity and improve software quality.

Organizations undertaking a process improvement effort often struggle with establishing and maintaining a measurement program that is effective, efficient, and compliant with CMMI. For a program to be effective, it must ensure that measurements adequately address the business needs and provide sufficient process data for monitoring and evaluating any gains that are made.

MKS and David Consulting Group will aim to address these issues in the following webinars:

CMMI Compliant Measurement - January 31, 1:00 PM EST. Patricia Eglin of DCG will discuss what it takes to satisfy the CMMI requirements for measurement across various Levels and Process Areas, as well as how to ensure alignment between the metrics reported on and the business goals. http://www.mks.com/cmmi_compliant_metrics_webinar

CMMI Process Enforcement and Measurement with MKS Integrity – February 5, 1:00 PM EST. MKS Product Manager Ryan Lloyd will introduce MKS Integrity, a process-centric application lifecycle management platform that allows businesses to construct repeatable processes tuned to CMMI. By capturing data on day-to-day development activities, it provides the ability to mine, display, and report on CMMI compliant measurements in real-time. http://www.mks.com/cmmi_process_measurement_webinar

In addition to the Webinar Series, DCG and MKS will be offering clients a facilitated two-day workshop at the client’s site. This workshop will:

  • prescribe how to satisfy the CMMI requirements for measurement among the various Level 2 and Level 3 Process Areas,
  • identify specific measurement needs, and
  • provide the techniques necessary to implement the right measures for the organization.

Workshop information can be found online at http://www.mks.com/cmmi_measurement_workshop

Through the Webinar Series and Workshop, organizations will learn how they can implement an effective measurement program for CMMI, while utilizing MKS Integrity for application lifecycle management (ALM) to manage, enforce, and automate CMMI compliant processes.
