Waterloo, ON – October 17, 2007 : MKS Inc. (MKS) (TSX: MKX) today announced that Mitsubishi Research Institute DCS Co., Ltd (DCS) had selected Japanese edition of MKS Integrity for ITSM/ITIL.

DCS’s initial implementation of MKS Integrity enables process automation, management and recording of incident, problem, change requests, change orders, and release into production for both internal and customer software applications across multiple platforms. The multi-dimensional relationship methodology used to manage configuration Items means improved impact analysis capabilities when incidents occur.

MKS Integrity for ITSM/ITIL went live at DCS in September and the MKS solution users include both DCS staff and service subcontractors.

Mr. Kanne Akabane, Senior Managing Director and Executive Officer comments, “Our first step with MKS Integrity was automation of process and streamlining of software application maintenance activity, from incident to release, across multiple hardware and software platforms. The power and flexibility of the MKS Integrity workflow engine means that we are easily able to tailor the MKS Integrity ITSM/ITIL solution with our own processes and data. We have applied the solution to our geographically diverse maintenance activities and integrated MKS Integrity securely with our existing infrastructure and tools. We look forward to further strengthening of our services for our customers’ businesses by gradually broadening the scope of MKS Integrity implementation”.

MKS Integrity was selected after comparison with other more traditional help desk solutions. The key reasons for the selection of MKS Integrity include functional richness, flexibility, and ability to smoothly integrate downstream into source code, testing and document management, all of which are part of the MKS Integrity platform.

MKS Japan Managing Director, David Jones adds, “Winning DCS’s business was a team effort with Mitsui Knowledge Industries (MKI). MKI’s consulting power in the ITSM/ITIL area, together with the strength and flexibility of the MKS Integrity ITSM/ITIL solution enabled us to fend off competing bids from the more traditional siloed help desk solutions. We look forward to serving and adding value to DCS and also customers of DCS over the coming years”.

MKS’s partner Mitsui Knowledge Industry’s Executive Director, Mr. Tetsuo Kawashima comments, “MKS Integrity is now proven as a very strong joint solution for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) and ITSM in the Japanese market. Our own experience with MKS Integrity and the close teamwork between our consultants and MKS’ growing team in Japan positioned us to provide this high value added solution to DCS”.
