Karl Storz Standardizes on MKS for Management of Global Software Development Operations

Waterloo, ON — January 9, 2007: MKS Inc. (TSX:MKX) today announced that Karl Storz, a world leader in medical endoscopic technology and instrumentation has selected MKS Integrity, MKS’s application lifecycle management (ALM) platform, to manage global development operations in Germany, Switzerland and the United States.

MKS Integrity enables Karl Storz development teams in each of the three locations to collaborate in real time on software projects, and MKS Integrity’s powerful workflow, process management and automatically generated audit trails simplifies and speeds up the Company’s compliance to stringent FDA regulations. Endoscopic equipment is used in human and veterinary medicine and for industrial applications.
