Waterloo, ON — August 29, 2005: MKS Inc. (TSX:MKX) today announced that H.J. Heinz Company, the most global U.S.-based food company, with a world-class portfolio of powerful brands holding number-one and number-two market positions in more than 50 countries, will expand its use of the MKS Integrity Suite™ to facilitate service and work request processes across the global Heinz organization.
For years, Heinz has been successfully leveraging MKS’s software configuration management technology across its iSeries and client server application environments at its World Headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. Heinz chose to expand its partnership with MKS by adding additional process, workflow and project dashboard capabilities within the MKS Integrity Suite. The expanded MKS functionality will allow Heinz to meet its strategic business objective to drive greater efficiency across its enterprise by securely automating IS change processes, improving visibility across locations and lines of business, and enhancing the planning and prioritization process via the Suite’s real-time management dashboard.
“Historically, IS change processes have been managed by individual business units across the globe,” says Shirley Weinstein, Global IS Director for Heinz. “Making the MKS technology more widely available in our environment will improve global visibility and improve operational efficiencies through tighter integration of lines of business, development and IT operations and reduce costs on a global scale. Heinz anticipates a reduction in redundant and inefficient processes within the next three to six months as we globally implement standard processes and leverage a common tool. The additional enhanced cross-team communication and collaboration MKS affords is also expected to improve overall IS governance throughout our international environment.”
MKS will provide the Heinz IS team with centralized project management controls and real-time collaboration across a world-wide organization. Use of the MKS Integrity Suite will bring the following business benefits to H.J. Heinz:
- Enhanced control, visibility, and audit-ability across its information technology organization, aiding the company in its business goal to establish a foundation for secure organizational IT change management, IS governance and compliance.
- Improved metrics and quality trend reporting via the real-time management dashboard;
- Enhanced cross-team communication and real-time collaboration improving software application quality, accuracy, reproducibility, and consistency.
