Federated Insurance Companies Select MKS for Enterprise Software Configuration Management

Waterloo, ON - June 5, 2002: MKS Inc. (MKS) (TSE:MKX), a leading provider of tools to manage and control the software development process, today announced that the Federated Insurance Companies, which specialize in business insurance for selected industries, have chosen MKS Source Integrity® Enterprise for its enterprise software configuration management (SCM) needs.

MKS's enterprise software configuration management solution was selected for its ease of configuration and intuitiveness, security mechanisms, and ability to easily be adapted into Federated's existing process and procedures.

Federated will initially deploy MKS Source Integrity Enterprise Edition to approximately 150 information systems software developers in its home office of Owatonna, MN, with plans to provide the technology to operations in Phoenix and Atlanta in the future.
